Title: TV ADDICT
Television addiction refers to a psychological disorder ( communication pathology and behavioral addiction ) causing in certain viewers a repetitive and compulsive (uncontrollable or even obsessive) need to watch television , to the point that this activity encroaches and negatively interferes with their daily life, professional or emotional.
50 years later, the multiplicity of programs offered to the viewer is a wealth but also a factor of frustration.
The person concerned may then develop anxiety or depression (which will possibly also indirectly affect those around them).
In 1990 , although the small screen was already regularly or periodically watched by more than a billion people, and 65 to 70% of Americans surveyed believed that television was addictive , and despite numerous reports of addiction to television, few broad empirical studies had already focused on the issue. Many parallels have been made with other forms of behavioral addiction, such as drug or gambling addiction.
